James Thorn leads our London office and oversees all European operations.

He is an expert in Pharmaceutical manufacturing with a wealth of experience extending through from drug R&D, to API synthesis, to product packaging. He has a proven track record leading projects focusing on EBITDA and Enterprise Multiple maximization, value creation, production capacity improvement, cost reduction, and warehouse operations improvement. These have ranged across a multitude of industries, specializing in Private Equity owned portfolio companies.

Prior to consulting, James designed chocolate manufacturing machinery, lead the development of a medical device startup and lead multiple organizational transformations.

Mr. Thorn received a First Class Degree in Manufacturing Engineering and a Masters in Industrial Systems, Manufacturing and Management from the University of Cambridge.

His practical experience is further enriched by his time in gastronomy, having worked in a 3 Michelin star restaurant — a testament to his passion for cooking. Outside of work, James is an avid beekeeper, rugby enthusiast and restores classic cars.
